Pie Crust
  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons chilled vegetable shortening
  • 2-3 tablespoons ice water
  1. In a food processor mix the flour and salt. Add the vegetable shortening and butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles tiny pebbles.
  2. Add ice water and pulse until just combined. Chill until needed.
